Considering earlier comments from C.E and Rose, I doubt that.
Some pages ago C.E did say the golems were among the released subjects. And why would she put herself against one of them ready to unleash her own special brand of cremation?
But they look like they’re kind of patrolling the corridors, and they’re leaving that thing with antlers crying in a cell alone. All we see is Arthur being scared of them, which if they’re going round killing any non-humans not in a cell, he has good reason to be. And also, C.E. orders them away like they’re under her control.
I dunno man, maybe I’m reading too much into it, but I think they’re the termination unit.
I read “all of you out, NOW” as being a command for the rest of the people there (mary, fragile, edward, arthur) to get the fuck out because you Do Not Fuck With Golems.
Yeah, I’m almost certain that C.E.’s order was to Mary/etc., because none of them are strictly human, given that Fragile is a long-lived blood-drinker of some sort, Raven was bitten/turned by a vampiric entity that C.E. described as a demon, and both Mary and Arthur have received transfusions of “tainted” blood, as well as having paranormal abilities to start with.
(Edward? Did you mean Raven, or am I spacing on a character?)
It looks like the golems are clearing the corridors (thus, ignoring the horned being cowering in its cell), which would likely make them the termination squad referenced . . .
. . . but is the announcement automated, or is a human (G?) making it? You’d think that C.E. would have the golems trained not to attack *her*, but then again, if they’re not terribly bright, she’s NOT human, and probably didn’t give herself a lab implant.
(Even if they did avoid C.E., our hero/ines are still at risk, due to *their* lack of implants — which is likely why she’s holding them back.)
Wonder if the wolf-beast is escaping or going back into a cell? Those look like bushes, so I’m guessing at least one critter is getting out of the lab . . .
I’m interested in learning more about the ‘golems’, too — they’re different from the clay golems which are the more classic mythic archetype, particularly with the devouring abdominal void-mouths, and they do appear to be cast from a single mold, so to speak.
(The similarly-glowing white eyes are definitely an interesting parallel between them and C.E., although it may be a coincidence. I’d be very curious to know where they came from, who made them, and why they all look alike!)
*wiggles at edge of seat* Can’t wait for more!! 😀
I’d suspect that the golems are the termination squad, and that C.E. took her glasses off so they could see her eyes and tell that she was one of them or in command of them. She told Mary & Co. to get back because they would be eaten by the Golems (As Robin was). It seems Robin missed a key factor. She did not intent to release the Golems, but I think C.E. had a hardware lock or something similar to release them should all other locks release. This would allow the golems to terminate any escaped subjects.
In the referenced page CE says: “If the subjects are out, she’ll have released the golems too.” She doesn’t say they’re part of the subjects. I think she means that because the subjects were released the golems will automatically be released as well because they are the termination unit.
Woah, they are flesh golems, all of a particular style; so there is one Frankenstein-like creator for all of these? Or one group using the same manual? Don’t suppose he/she is locked up in here.
I’m willing to bet that the Flesh Golems are the termination unit. if you pay attention to the announcement it clearly states that all hostile creatures will be terminated. The group is pretty much exclusively composed of non human and hostile people. furthermore, only a couple of them are supposed to be in the place. so the other’s may not be tagged. and on the subject of C.E.’s powers, I think she may be a careful hybrid of various species, perhaps she is much older than she looks and was created by somebody who started this project first. her choice to view other things as monsters may stem from her inability to cope with her own inhuman nature.
Good grief, what are these?! The ones with the sown up lips … Brrr
they’re golems like they said on the last page aren’t they?
Awesome!!! *O*
I’ve just read the entire comic! OMFG, i love it <3
I wanna see more! :r
Thanks for creating this comic os so fcking cool! *O*
Greetings from Mexico! 😀
Are the golems the termination unit? Because that would get me jumping back into my cage, yep yep.

And by Robin I totally meant Rose >.> <.<

Wait…may it be that our super strange C.E. is a golem herself? Her white eyes are very like theirs… O_o
Ahh that’s what I was thinking…some kind of part golem…

The wolf doesn’t give two shits
I love this comic.

People are speculating here that she’s part golem. More likely the other way around, that the golems are part her.
