How to notice K&A give though to what they do : look at those tentacles. I never saw an octopus twisted in pain, but my brain is convinced it looks like that now.
….Aaaaaand Mary unlocks Favourite Character achievement (in my eyes, at least!) Loving this page so much… It sums up my experience trying to actively seek help for myself and being shut down by those who are supposed to help the sick. Yup, I think your work has become my favourite webcomic, because personal resonance FTW. Also, thank you two so much! This made my morning.
the tentacle guy asked if they had a death wish but was it because they were trying to fight when everyone else was trying to leave? like a “are you nuts?” huh something to think about.
I keep seeing sexual undertones in that comic, but maybe that’s just me! Ahah, by the way your art keeps getting more impressive as you go, I’m a fan that’s for sure.
Hrrngh! Need more! I only found this series a few hours ago…now what am I going to do? Go back to making my own paltry comics?! Surely A. and K. will deliver? Soon…?
It’s okay to prefer the old stuff! Though I will say a lot of the softer lines of the beginning were the result of a crappy scanner, and otherwise, my linework just evolved to be heavier because of personal aesthetic shifts. The digital thing is only a few pages’ new!
As reassurance in regards to the colors, that will always change. Each chapter has color themes to suit the mood, and this one has been the starkest yet. There will likely be other chapters in the future with softer tones, so you haven’t seen the last of some soothing pastels.
yay! \o/ I don’t really think Findchaos gets the attention it deserves; Chaoslife is great and all, but FC is subtle and complex. Maybe you’ll get to do a guest comic for QC someday 🙂
I don’t know why I strongly dislike Mary, but I do, she is really annoying. She treats the awesome British guy like shit, she fails to see the fucked up situation that they are in and has this whole white night self righteous thing I really hate in people going on. Or maybe it is just because I like villeins. In any case just because you’ve been through something one way does not justify using it as an excuse in every case, some times people are monsters even when they appear to be human or “just like me”. Like I have mental illness and I was in the hospital, and tbh even though some people didn’t deserve to be in there, myself included though not exactly at the time, others need to be kept away from society because those are the people who are unwilling to reform and see nothing wrong with their behavior. C.E. has a carefully crafted system, no killing humans, trying to cure and or reform people with these afflictions and killing those who harm others and are unwilling to change. Sometimes there is nothing wrong with that. I don’t think C.E. is the type to go around capturing random people without having all her facts in order not to mention the way she loves Arthur so much, but that’s just me.
A lot of people said the loved Mary because of her speech, but her rush to vilify C.E. which is undoubtedly the easy thing to do, makes me detest her. She doesn’t know C.E. and she keeps failing to understand the situation with the whole I don’t want to kill Schick, if she wasn’t vital to the story line, I’d hope for C.E. to kill her or at least for her to get plummeted into reality in a very cruel way.
Arthur has this issue with judging people based on their past or what they are but continues to not look at himself and uses religion as a way to I guess scoot away from his perceived short comings. Like how he treated Raven, though I wouldn’t be sure to misjudge Arthur because he knows evil when he sees it. But at the same time not all “monsters” are evil, which is weird to say. Like psychopaths for instance, people think all psychopaths are serial killers, but in reality most psychopaths don’t actually kill anyone and take jobs that include being Surgeons or any profession with a lot of gory details that would make others rather squeamish. Which means they serve a purpose and benefit society. I could go on, but I should probably stop analyzing fictional characters.

Wow! Mary! I just… Wow! I love her now.
In C.E’s defence, that Cthulu monster attacked on sight while they were hiding.
but was he really attacking? I mean it looks like it, but it essentially told them to go away and asked them what the hell they were doing there
And then asked for death wishes because Arthur just… bite him.
the tentacle guy asked if they had a death wish but was it because they were trying to fight when everyone else was trying to leave? like a “are you nuts?” huh something to think about.
Interesting turn, I get the feeling this is inspired by the writers’ experiences of homophobia?
I guess it could be from experience of mental illness stigma as well.

The new digital designs are great, but I really did prefer the soft lines and pastel-y colors, like in SotF…

Hi, I’m not sure how to put it. I really identified with Mary’s speech. Thank you.
Pulling the over my dead body card on C.E.? Bye bye, Mary, it’s been a pleasure.
